Jodi L. Parsons, CPP

Jodi L. Parsons, CPP is the Senior Director of Payroll Operations at the Kansas City Royals and a former president of PayrollOrg.

Twenty-six years ago, she was an accountant at a student loan company when the payroll manager abruptly quit without any notice. Jodi volunteered on the spot to fill the vacant role, launching her career in payroll. Jodi likes to say that although she fell into payroll, she has stayed because she fell in love.

Well – payroll loves her, too, because she was named Payroll Woman of the Year in 2014 and since then has been a tireless volunteer. She’s served in multiple PayrollOrg committees and offices, both on the national and local level. Jodi says the best advice she has ever received is “to be yourself” and was inspired by Amy Trask, first-ever female CEO of the Oakland Raiders to pursue her own career in sports.

Jodi’s interest in athletics dates back to college when she was captain of the University Iowa track team. She has continued to support the Iowa sports community, serving as President of both the National Iowa Varsity Club, the University of Iowa’s Letterman’s Club.

Fun fact: Jodi’s most prized possessions are her Kansas City Royal championship rings. The Royals won AL pennants in 2014 and 2015 and the World Series in 2015.
