Erica Umbach
Meet Erica Umbach, the Senior Director of Disbursements at the Milwaukee Brewers.
Erica’s payroll journey began in the early 2000s when she enrolled in a payroll accounting class. She enjoyed it so much that she asked her employer for a promotion into the payroll department. A few paycycles later, she was given her first payroll job. Now that’s the kind of initiative that is going to land payroll professionals in the C-Suite!
After successful jobs in the healthcare industry, Erica was called up to the big leagues in 2018 to manage payroll and accounts payable for the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers have made the playoffs nearly every year during Erica's tenure and are poised for another postseason run in 2025 with one of the best records in baseball.
Erica is the Treasurer of the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of PayrollOrg and has recently received a Citation of Merit for her service on PayrollOrg task forces. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with her husband of 27 years and 2 kids. She is also an avid reader and a volunteer instructor.
Fun fact: before payroll captured her heart, Erica aspired to be a wedding planner.
